Prof.Dr. Wasim Qazi

Prof. Dr. Wasim Qazi is a Vice President of Iqra University, having previously served as an Executive Director of the IU from 2004 to 2010. At present, he is a Visiting Professor and a Research Scholar at the Eastern Kentucky University (EKU), USA. Dr. Qazi commenced his career in 1995-96 from Hamdard University as a Special Assistant to the Chancellor and Vice Chancellor. In 1999, he joined as an Advisor to the Rector and Director in the Institute of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Lahore. He was also engaged as an Advisor to the Board of Governors, University of Faisalabad.
He received his post doctorates from the Australian Catholic University (Australia) and Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) and was an International Visiting Scholar at the Western Michigan      University (USA). He earned his PhD from Hamdard University and Masters in Philosophy from the University of Karachi.

He also contributed his expertise as the Director Operation for Teacher’s Training for ESRA and RTI–USAID and is a Senior Management Consultant to European Commission. As a Consultant and Project Director, the efforts of Dr. Qazi have materialized into connecting IU to a multitude of  international donor organizations like World Bank, British Council, USAID, UNICEF, and European Commission amongst others. At present, he is involved in diverse assignments in the            Department of Education and Learning Sciences; specifically, in the area of Continuous Professional Development.

As a part of the broad based collaboration between the IU and EKU, Dr. Qazi is working on: the  comparative analysis of school reform interventions; devising a rubric for blended learning methods in developing countries; and developing a futuristic scenario for higher education in the  year 2050. With an established research and knowledge transfer track record, Dr. Qazi has been instrumental in Cementing institutional engagements with a host of organizations to develop a stimulating research partnership and generate literature relatable to the academic practices in the  developing world.

Therefore, as an expert in education policy, management and research, Dr. Qazi has numerous  international publications to his credit. He has presented in a range of global forums and transnational conferences; peer reviewed academic papers in prestigious journals; mentored and successfully supervised a number of M.Phil and PhD students. His scholastic interests comprise gender-specific educational interventions, school management committees, instructional, learning and cognitive sciences.

Dr. Qaisrani

Dr. Qaisrani has served as former Dean of Faculty of Social Sciences at University of Balochistan, Quetta. He holds MA from Punjab University and MA and PhD from Michigan State University, USA. Dr. Qaisrani has a vast experience in teaching and research. He attended a number of workshops, conferences and seminars within the country and abroad. He has a number of research papers to his credit published in journals of national and international repute. His is currently working in the capacity of Professor of Education and Coordinator for M.Phil leading to PhD program at IUGC. Dr. Qaisrani has also worked as project coordinator for various public-private funded educational projects awarded to Iqra University by the Department of Education, Government of Sindh.

Dr. Rawat

Dr. Rawat earned Ph D from Hamdard University and worked on his Post Doctoral studies in USA. Currently, he is serving Iqra University as Associate Professor. His work on John Dewey is significantly admired by the national and international academicians. He has worked for Hamdard University for more than ten years. His research papers have been published in prolific national and international journals. In addition, Dr. Rawat has also contributed in national and international conferences. His valuable services in the field of education and social sciences are an integral component of the university. He also supervises Advanced Research Methodology courses at M.Phil and PhD level. His pedagogic strength is in Qualitative Research Paradigm. He joined Iqra University in 2005.

Dr. Hamid

Dr. Hamid has an extensive experience of teaching undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate level in several universities. He has taught under graduate and graduate students of Karachi University, Hamdard University, Indus School of Art and Architecture and Iqra University. Dr. Hamid is currently associated with the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, at the University of Toronto as an Academic Visitor to collaborate with Professor Joan Eakin on various topics in the area of “Visual Research Method”. He is working as a Research Coordinator to produce several videotaped lectures for the Centre of Critical Qualitative Research of the University of Toronto. He is also co-ordinating the overall IT components for the VITAL Project of the Lawrence S. Bloomberg faculty of Nursing of the University of Toronto. Dr. Hamid has also participated in the design and implementation of researches in education funded by various International Agencies including US-AID, UNICEF, World Bank and European Commission.

Dr. Muhammad Azam

Dr. Muhammad Azam is associated with Iqra University Gulshan campus as an Assistant Professor in the department of Business Administration. He earned his PhD in Quantitative Analysis and Behavioral Finance from the University of Paris Ouest-Nanterre La Défense and M.Phil from the University of Orléans, France. He attended a number of workshops, conferences and seminars within the country and abroad. He is an author of book “Investors’ Behavior and Stock Prices Variation” and research papers published in Journals of International repute. His areas of interests also include Quantitative Methods in Finance, Panel Data Econometrics, Financial Markets and Portfolio Management.

 Imtiaz Arif

Imtiaz Arif has been associated with Iqra University since January, 2000. He is a Career-Educationist and has an extensive experience of developing and conducting Management and Computer education programmes. It is his diverse & rich background in IT & Management that has enabled him to play a leading role in taking IUGC to new heights. He has been instrumental in equipping IUGC with state-of-the-art teaching facilities and also engaging learned faculty members. In addition to his teaching assignments, Prof. Arif has been serving as the Director Academics of Ggulshan Campus since 2001. His research topic for PhD is “Application of Information System in the Field of Finance” and “Information Systems and Banking Reforms”. His other areas of interest are Training Coordination & Information Management System.

Salman Abbasi

Salman Abbasi is a Fulbright Scholar. He did his Masters from University of Pennsylvania (UPenn), USA on a scholarship from US Department of State. His previous scholarship, under the auspices of Japanese Government (JICA) was to Japan in the area of “Good Governance”. In addition to various professional Diplomas in Management, he holds a Law Degree and a Masters Degree in IR. He brings a wealth of local and international corporate experience. He has worked in various MNCs, Government of Pakistan, and a leading NPO in Philadelphia. His areas of interest include Organizational Development/ Capacity-Building and Communication Skills. Besides teaching Management & Communication subjects, he is serving as Director Academics, Iqra University North Nazimabad Campus.

Zia Abbasi

Zia Abbasi is an Associate member of ICMA and APA. He achieved gold medal in ICMA final examination. He has also achieved Certificate of Merit in the subject of Auditing. He has taught at SZABIST, Bahria, ICMAP and I.B.A. Currently, he is associated with IUGC as Assistant Professor. His additional responsibility is working in the capacity of GM Finance. Mr. Abbasi has worked as Manager Accounts and Finance in various corporate sectors. He has been associated with the CBR in the capacity of a visiting faculty member. Previously, he worked in the capacity of Manager Academics. His major areas of interest include corporate sector financial management projects and public sector investment audit and consultancy. Currently, he is pursuing his M.Phil in Management Sciences. He began his career at Iqra University in 2008. he is also key member in all financial planning and implementation.

Ms Simon

Ms Simon received her MLitt in Literary Studies from the University of Strathclyde (Scotland), a dual MA in Literature and Linguistics (with distinction) and an M.Sc. in Economics from the University of Karachi. She is currently associated with Iqra University (IU) as an Assistant Professor and a Research Associate in the Faculty of Education and Learning Sciences. Prior to joining IU- GC in May 2010, she worked as a lecturer in St. Patrick’s College and a visiting faculty in the College of Banking and Finance. At IU, she facilitates Education MPhil and PhD students through classes and workshops. In addition, she assists MBA students in enhancing their Self Management Skills. Her general research interests include, examining the alternative patterns of lineation in Metaphysical Poetry; exploring psycho-symbolic master-servant relationships in Elizabethan Literature; and investigating the use of language as an instrument of tyranny and suppression of truth in the works of George Orwell. In particular, she is also interested in issues relevant to Higher Education, Education and Learning Sciences, Cognitive Sciences, Qualitative Research Methods and Education-Public Sector.

Abida Shaheen

Abida Shaheen holds MBA in HRM from Iqra University and MA in IR from the University of Karachi. She commenced her professional career as a lecturer at Bahria College. Currently she is associated with Iqra University Gulshan Campus as a lecturer in the Dept of Management Sciences. Her areas of interest include Human Resource Management and Student Counseling. She has been active in community welfare programmes. Her areas of special interest include Self-Management and Principle of Management courses. Currently she is completing her M. Phil studies at Iqra University.

Moona Shamim

Moona Shamim is associated with Iqra University Gulshan campus as a lecturer. She is pursuing her M.PHIL (Finance) from Iqra University. She holds MBA and MCS from Iqra University and M.A (Economics) From University of Karachi. During her education in Iqra University, she secured scholarships and stood first in MCS and MBA. She has worked in Orix Investment Bank in Corporate Finance. She began her teaching career as a permanent faculty member at Iqra University. Her areas of special interest are Accounting, Finance and Management Information Systems. She began her career at Iqra University in 2007.

Muhammad Nadeem Khan

He is an Associate of Institute of Cost & Management Accountants of Pakistan, a member of International Federation of Accountants (IFAC).He is also a member of Pakistan Institute of Public and Finance Accountants. He has experience of more than 10 years in corporate sector. He served different professional institutes. His areas of specialization are Financial Accounting, Cost and Management Accounting and Financial Management. He has been associated with IQRA University as permanent faculty member since May 2008.Ever since his appointment as assistant professor, he has been engaged in the teaching and developing of course contents, course standardization and other projects of the university.

Tehseen Jawaid

Tehseen Jawaid is M.Sc in Economics from University of Karachi. He has completed M.A.S in Economics from Applied Economics Research Center, University of Karachi. He began his career as a visiting faculty member in Muhammad Ali Jinnah University. Presently, he is working as a lecturer at Iqra University. He is also pursuing his PhD in Economics from University of Karachi. His areas of interest include Micro, Macro and Developmental Economics and research projects in Economics. He joined Iqra University in May 2008.

Farhan Mehboob

Farhan Mehboob is currently working as Assistant Professor in the department of Management Sciences. He completed his BBA from University of Arizona, USA and MBA from Scotland, UK. His responsibilities include teaching of core courses in IT, Economics, Islamic Banking and Networking. His special interest is in development of course contents for teaching Islamic Finance at higher education level. He has worked on several national and international financial and IT projects. He has also authored a book on Islamic financial systems. His services were hired at international level in UAE. Currently, he is completing his PhD in Management Sciences. He joined Iqra University in 2009.

Sanatullah

Sanatullah has been serving Iqra University as Assistant Professor at Gulshan Campus since 2008. Currently, he is pursuing his M.Phil from Iqra University. He is an MBA from IBA Karachi. He has also received Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in business administration from IBA Karachi. Besides, he also holds M.Sc from University of Karachi. He was associated with Institute of Business & Technology (BIZTEK) as lecturer for one and a half years .He has been teaching students of undergraduate programs for 8 years. He worked with multinational and leading national organizations for over ten years in the field of marketing. He has also conducted workshops and training programs for senior management to floor level workers as In charge of ensuring functioning of all the departments in conformance with ISO 9000 QMS system.

Muhammad Shahnawaz Adil

Muhammad Shahnawaz Adil is currently working as Assistant Professor. He completed MBA from University of Newcastle, UK and PGD from Stratford, United Kingdom. He also hold B.Sc. Honours from London Guildhall University UK. He has taught at Mohammad Ali Jinnah University, Karachi as a Lecturer. Besides, he has served many British Management Organization. He has been Alumni Ambassador of University of Newcastle (UK) in Pakistan since April 2007. He achieved seven distinctions in his academic career in addition to First Class First Position at Sindh Board of Technical Education (SBTE) Karachi. He has been associated with IQRA University (Gulshan Campus) since August 2008. Currently, he is pursuing his M.Phil in Business Studies at Iqra University. His areas of major concentration are strategic Management.

Ms Lubna Shaiq

Ms Lubna Shaiq is associated with Iqra University Gulshan Campus as an Assistant Professor & Research Associate. She did her MA English Language Teaching and Applied Linguistics from King’s College London (UK). She also did COTE/RSA from Cambridge University (UK). Prior to her Masters from UK, Ms. Shaiq had done double Masters from University of Karachi, MA English Linguistics & MA English Literature. In the past she had been an ESOL Teacher at British Refugee Council. She had also served as Lecturer at FAST – NU, at NED University, at PAF- KIET and at Bahria College – Karsaz. Her areas of interest include Motivation among Second Language Learners and Challenges faced by L2 Learners.

Faisal Sultan Qadri

Faisal Sultan Qadri joined Iqra University as a Lecturer in 2009. He has done M.A (Economics) from University of Karachi. He also holds M.A.S (Economics) from Applied Economics Research Centre (AERC). Previously, he had been associated with Allama Iqbal Open University, Newport University of Communications & Economics and Dadabhoy Institute of Higher Education as a visiting faculty member. He is a member of Pakistan Society of Development Economics and has worked with UNDP in a project “Support to National Election in Pakistan”. He has also assisted Mr. Ashraf Wasti, a distinguished Economist, in different empirical studies. He is currently pursuing his M.Phil. from AERC. His core area of interest is Human Capital on which he has conducted numerous applied researches, available in the form of research papers.

Sohail Majeed

Sohail Majeed is currently working as Assistant Professor. He completed his M.Sc. in Supply Chain Management from University of Bolton, Manchester, UK & Diploma in Marketing from Lincoln College, Manchester, UK. He also holds a Professional Certificate in Marketing from Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). Previously he has worked with KFC, Manchester, UK for five years as a Shift Manager. He is also a member of Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) UK, Chartered Institute of Purchase and Supply Chain (CIPS) UK and Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) UK. His areas of interest are Supply Chain Management & Marketing Management.

Shahzaib Khan

Mr. Asif Warsi

Mr. Asif Warsi is associated with IUGC as an Assistant Professor & Research Associate in the Department of Business Administration. He is also a Visiting Faculty at NED University. He acquired his MBA in Finance from University of Wales Institute Cardiff (UWIC) UK and an Advance-Diploma of Business Administration in Finance, UK. Prior to that, he had done Masters in Economics & Finance from University of Karachi. Mr Warsi brings a wealth of National and International experience in Investment Management. Before joining IUGC he was the Head of Finance, GROUP360. He has also worked as Trader Equities & Technical Analyst in Invest Capital & Securities Pvt. Ltd. In UK he had worked as a Fund Analyst in Blackstone Moregate. During his work in London, he attended various conference calls and seminars on Investments. His major areas of interest include Financial Management, Portfolio Management, Investments, Fundamental & Technical Analysis, Economics & Business Strategy.

Shumaila Ambreen Paracha

Shumaila is associated with IUGC as an Assistant Professor in Department of Finance. She did her Masters in Finance from University of Melbourne, Australia on a scholarship from AusAID (Australian Agency for International Development). Prior to that, she had served banking sector in Pakistan for almost 4 years. She worked at MCB Bank as a Credit Analyst and Standard Chartered Bank as a Business Planning Manager. She has done various banking courses during her career and had also conducted training sessions for Trainee Officers regarding Credits & Foreign Exchange Operations at MCB Training Centre. Her areas of interest are Financial Management, Security Analysis and Derivatives.

Naveed Ahmed Khan

Naveed Ahmed Khan has been associated with Iqra University as an Asst. Professor & Manager Program (E) in Business Administration since mid-2011. Following his first degree from Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture in Design, he earned double Master degrees from University of Western Sydney (UWS) NSW, Australia in Operations Management & Quality Management. His areas of interest are Supply Chain Management, Total Quality Management & Media Design. Besides academic, he possesses significant experience of working at Fashion/Textile & Automobile industries. In addition he holds considerable experience in designing, implementing & auditing QA self-assessment program initiated by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. He is also an academic member of The Institute for Supply Management (ISM) Tempe, AZ. USA.
